Soul Painting

Soul Painting it is a project I have started in 2009 and It is based on the principles of chromotherapy.
Chromotherapy and Action painting helps to release negative emotions, frees the mind and has positive side effects on the chemicals imbalances within the body. It is considered an alternative medicine and can be applied in many different areas of our life.

We use 7 colours: Red, Orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet.
The first three are exhilarating and brings cheerfulness and joy of life, movement and action within the body and mind.
The last Three invite us to calmness, reflection, relaxation and a meditation status.
The choice of colours plays the main role in order to stimulate specific needs.
The colour that is used in order to balance our moods, eliminate any excesses to neutralise the body.
For the very active and nervous person, easily exposed to anger I would suggest to compensate with the use of a calming colour such as Blue, Violet or green.
For people with depression, tiredness, that struggle to find motivation in life I would recommend to use Red, Bright Pink, Yellow and Orange colour.

“Be calmly active and actively calm”

Soul painting is a form of meditation as it connects us to our deepest source of energy when done with consciousness of the practice.
The Material world and the coarse energy are represented by the warm colours, the mind and astral body or subtle energies are represented by the cold colours, while the white symbolise the Spirit Soul.

The reason why I chose an abstract painting is because in order to get out the best from the therapy the mind doesn’t need to be limited by any shape, conversely it needs to concentrate interlay on the energy of the colours, overcoming the form.
In this way it is easier to free our emotions and use it as a form of meditation.
The drafting of the colour represents a fragmented but unitary form of energy similar to  the structure of the cosmos and quantum physics.

We start connecting with the white colour and after to the colours of the subtle body until we arrive to the thicker layer of the material world. Following this process you’ll be expanding your perception entering a blissful state of mind.

Seven-chakras-and-Prana-mudra
This process recalls the chakras.
Quickly explained the Muladhara or the root chakra is the primary chakra and it is a Red four petal lotus. It is the chakra connected to passion and sexual energy. Ascending towards the Crown Chakra or Sahasrara the Chakras change colours till a light indigo and violet colours that are connected to our higher self.
